How to Get Your iPhone or iPad UDID Without a Computer (Step-by-Step)

A simple step-by-step guide to getting your iOS device UDID in 30 seconds using UDID.my — no Mac, no cables, no apps required.

What You Need

  • An iPhone or iPad running iOS 10 or later
  • Safari browser (required — other browsers cannot install configuration profiles)
  • An internet connection

The whole process takes about 30 seconds. No apps to install, no computer needed.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open UDID.my in Safari

On your iPhone or iPad, open Safari and go to udid.my. Tap the「Get My UDID」button in the center of the page.

⚠️ If you're in WeChat or Chrome, tap the menu and choose Open in Safari before continuing.

Step 2: Allow the Profile Download

Safari will show a prompt asking if you want to allow the download of a configuration profile. Tap Allow.

Step 3: Install the Profile

After downloading, you'll see a notification saying "Profile Downloaded." Navigate to:

Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → Downloaded Profile

Tap the profile, then tap Install in the top-right corner. Enter your passcode when prompted.

💡 The exact path varies by iOS version:

  • iOS 16 and later: Settings → General → VPN & Device Management
  • iOS 15 and earlier: Settings → General → Profiles & Device Management

Step 4: View Your UDID

After installation, Safari automatically returns to the browser and displays your device information:

  • UDID (Unique Device Identifier)
  • Serial Number
  • IMEI
  • Device Model
  • iOS Version

Tap the copy button next to your UDID to copy it to your clipboard, then share it with your developer.

Once you have your UDID, the profile has done its job. Remove it to keep things tidy:

Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → [Profile Name] → Remove Profile

Removing the profile has no effect on your device or apps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to install this profile?

Yes. UDID.my uses Apple's official Profile Service protocol, which is implemented at the iOS system level. The profile does exactly one thing: instruct iOS to report your device identifiers to the server. It makes no changes to your device. You can review and remove it at any time.

Why must I use Safari?

Apple's configuration profile installation is a Safari-exclusive capability. Third-party browsers (Chrome, Firefox, in-app browsers) cannot trigger the iOS profile installation flow.

Will my device be enrolled in MDM management?

No. The profile type used by UDID.my is Profile Service — a one-time data retrieval mechanism. It is completely different from MDM enrollment used by enterprise device management systems.

Is my UDID stored on your servers?

Device data is temporarily cached for the current session to display your results. We do not sell or publicly share your UDID. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Next Steps

Once you've shared your UDID with a developer, they'll register your device in the Apple Developer portal and generate a new provisioning profile that includes your device. Then they can send you the beta app.

If you're a developer collecting UDIDs from multiple testers, try the Remote Assist mode to generate a shareable link.
